Air pollution has a serious impact on our health. Pollutants in the air affect the whole body, including the lungs, eyes, nose, throat, and heart and the most vulnerable people in our society, like those with existing health conditions and from low-income communities, are affected more often.

Inspired by the animated works of the United Productions of America (UPA) from the 1950s I created this short for Scottish charity “I Am Me” – They wanted to create something more edgy than the work we have previously created for their educational resources and after some discussion we ended up with these abstracted blobs free of gender and ethnic connotations so we could focus on the chemistry of their brains and explain some of the reasons behind their risk-taking behaviour.

This compilation shows some of the best moments in an educational series I created for “I Am Me” a Scottish charity dedicated to changing attitudes and behaviours so that disabled and vulnerable people can feel safe within their communities.
The series tackles topics like keeping safe, making decisions, medications, peer pressure, substances and risk taking. The series is aimed at 7 school groups and you can see the two main characters grow as the series progresses.

Listen to children from different backgrounds share their unique experiences of the autistic spectrum in their own words.
We started this project back in 2017 by asking parents of autistic children to interview their kids and share their answers with us. The questions and parents’ guide were put together with the help of the lovely people at ADD-vance Trust in Hertfordshire. We had hoped to create a whole series with the interviews, but unfortunately our Kickstarter campaign didn’t reach its goal, so we decided to do a single animation instead. It was hard (and kind of painful) to have to condense hours of precious insights into just 5 short minutes.
A big shout out to everyone who donated on our GoFundMe campaign – we really appreciate your support! Thanks to you we got some lovely original music, a world-class producer and a super-talented editor on board to make this animation even more special.

Animation created for the Catholic aid agency, CAFOD, it encourages children and young people to reflect on journeys made in history and by their own families. It explains that the refugee crisis is global, yet the vast majority of refugees stay close to their home countries.
CAFOD asked me to help bring to life the illustrations created for them by Rachel Summers. Her style is very tactile and hand-made so it obviously needed to be frame by frame animation, but given the time and budget constraints we had to embark on the challenge of mimicking the look while doing it justice in After Effects. We created a set of parts using her textures and for most characters it meant creating twice the amount of assets to maintain the ‘boiling line’ look.
French version for Cafod’s Canadian counterpart “Développement et Paix”
The animation was also localised for various regions around the world, which involved new graphics, voice over and all text assets. Knowing this in advance I rigged the project accordingly to avoid the all important localisation process becoming an unnecessary burden on the client’s budget.
